Film & Video1. Where the city ends , 1999 (super8/video8 colour 29’)
2. Winter’s tale #1. A walk , 2000 (video8 colour 5’)
3. Autobiography of a house , 2002 (video8/miniDV colour 50’)
As though following the lines of a strange geometry, the encounter with the indipendent italian filmmaker Alberto Grifi
and, within his tale, with Giordano Falzoni, a post-surrealist painter, writer, poet, friend of Andrè Breton, as well as the
protagonist and collaborator on a number of Grifi’s films, who I discovered lived on my floor, without me having realised it.
4. Behind words. Artist Richard Nonas measuring the space of an idea , 2003 (video8 colour 21’)
In July 2003, the american artist Richard Nonas is invited to create a site-specific installation in the hall of the Fondazione
Ratti in Como. The video shows one of those very private, secret moments that are involved in the creation of a work
of art, when the space is still empty, but for the artist who crosses it, it is already a dense universe marked by infinite paths.
5. Winter’s tale #2. Sleepwalking , 2004 (video8 colour 8’)
6. Winter’s tale #3. On the possibility of the look in proportion to the speed of movement , 2005 (video8 colour 14’)
7. Local time at destination (tower) , 2005 (video8 colour 9’ loop)
8. Untitled (fall) , 2005 (miniDV colour 14’)
9. White Yellow Red Black. A chromatic adventure , 2009 (miniDV colour 92′)
Combining lyrical abstractions with fascinating real life footage, the video narrates the idea of a journey which starts out on the pages
of an atlas, is then made physically, and later still is remembered through the filter of memory and of the documentation gathered.
Structured into four sections, the video draws together sequences filmed on the White Sea, Yellow Sea, Red Sea and Black sea
to create a single, unbroken landscape which encloses again the infinite variety of the world in a single, imagined coexistence.
10. Corrado Levi Marrakech Theorie 2006 – 2019 , 2019 (miniDV colour 74’)
A conversation through a third party with Corrado Levi — the architect, artist and collector from Turin — shoot inside his sculpture-house
in Marrakech in march 2006. A short autobiography that weaves fragments of his personal story with reflections on art, architecture,
political commitment, classical music and writing. The voice-over of Liliana Rampello accompanies this free and eclectic wandering
of the mind with precise questions and quick contextualisations. All around, and sometimes in between, Levi’s words are accompanied
by images of the city, the paintings by some artists from Essaouira and the daily life of the alley where the house overlooks.
